Canoeing

Smithville Landing offers canoe trips ranging from 1 hour to 9 days! We can accomodate your group whether you want to rent 1 canoe or 150 canoes!

We offer 17 ft aluminum Grumman canoes.

We are located on the beautiful Big Manistee River, 13 miles North of Lake City and 13 miles South of Kalkaska.

Most of our trips begin up-river and end at Smithville Landing. All of our canoers are shuttled to the appropriate put in point by van or bus.

Reservations are recommended for all large groups (10 or more canoes) but walk-ins are welcome. We suggest that you reserve your canoes early as popular weekends fill up fast. We require a $20.00 reservation deposit per canoe. Reservation deposit for canoes on Saturday will not be refunded, so do not reserve more canoes than you need.

All canoeists are provided with a floatation device. Every guest must have one of these devices aboard their watercraft. Chidren 16 and under must wear a life preserver at all times!

All of Smithville Landing's canoes and equipment are inspected annually and registered by the State of Michigan.

We provide clean, well maintained equipment. Please help us by using NO DUCT TAPE on our equipment.
